Comprised of more than 75 students, the Spartan Strings orchestras perform quarterly in the school's 600+ seat auditorium and at assorted festivals throughout the state and country.
ORCHESTRAS
The orchestra program includes three leveled string ensembles and an alternative strings ensemble. Students audition for placement based on their skill level and performance ability.
A full-string, IB music ensemble, students selected for Chamber Orchestra perform classical arrangements and compositions requiring advanced skills while receiving college credit. Chamber performs at multiple concert festivals each year, where they regularly receive superior ratings for their performances.
Sinfonietta Orchestra students develop intermediate to advanced fundamental string techniques. This orchestra maintains an active performance schedule and can be seen around northern Colorado.
Concert Orchestra students develop fundamental string techniques. This orchestra does not require students to audition.
Students have the option to broaden their skillset and increase their performance opportunities by participating in an alternative styles ensemble. Styles explored include bluegrass, Irish, jazz, mariachi, folk, amongst many others.
